Queen performed at Theatre 140 in Brussels, Belgium on 12/10/1974

This is Queen’s first concert in Belgium.

Someone who attended the show said “the group arrived onstage dressed as musketeers, and that the smoke bombs took a bloody long time to disappear!”

There has been a bit of discrepancy over both the date and venue. Some sources state this show took place on December 1, which is actually the date the show was originally scheduled to be played. And while ticket stubs state the concert took place at the Ancienne Belgique, the reality is it was moved to the Theatre 140 about a week before the show. The most plausible reason for the venue switch is that the 140 was more upscale, while the Ancienne Belgique was standing room only. Many thanks to David Irons, Eddy Smit and Olivier Ruth for the information.

While Queen would never play the Ancienne Belgique, the Brian May band would eventually perform there in 1998.
