For the first time in 21 years, it is not The Beatles but Queen that is the main supplier of the Top 2000 of NPO Radio 2. The band, which again leads the list with Bohemian Rhapsody, has 37 listings in this year’s edition. That is two more than last year, as was announced on Friday at the unveiling of the complete list.
The Beatles had the most odds in the Top 2000 in the previous twenty editions. The legendary group sees two singles disappear this year and is now 36 times in the all-time list. Coldplay follows with 28 songs. BLØF has the most Dutch listings, 18 in total.
The Top 2000 will start on Wednesday, on Christmas Day, at 8 a.m. The number 1, Bohemian Rhapsody, closes the year just before midnight on December 31. The Top 2000 is one of the largest radio and music events in the Netherlands that around 10 million people watch and listen to every year.
